Capability Development
An informal, exploratory capability-development initiative designed to support practical exposure to thermal performance assurance concepts, applied engineering thinking, and digital-estate innovation.
What Is It
The TPAE Fellowship is an emerging, informal capability-development initiative — not a formal qualification programme, accreditation framework, or prescribed curriculum. It is designed to support practical exposure to the emerging field of thermal performance assurance engineering through real-world engagement, applied exploration, and collaborative learning.
Early Fellowship activities have ranged from pitch and demonstrator support to innovation ecosystem engagement and applied research exploration. As the initiative develops, Fellowship activity is expected to deepen and diversify — shaped by the interests, institutions, and practitioners who engage with it.
The Fellowship is intentionally open and exploratory. It does not impose a fixed structure on participants — instead, it provides a collaborative framework within which applied capability can develop organically alongside real-world initiative activity.

Who Can Engage
The TPAE Fellowship welcomes engagement from across the academic, institutional, industry, and innovation ecosystem. There are no formal entry requirements — curiosity and commitment to collaborative exploration are the primary criteria.
Engineering, built environment, sustainability, and data science students and graduates seeking real-world applied exposure to an emerging technical field.
Estates managers, facilities professionals, and operational teams working with low-carbon heating systems who want to develop deeper thermal performance assurance capability.
University and college researchers with interest in thermal performance, built environment decarbonisation, edge computing, or applied engineering capability development.
Mechanical, building services, and systems engineers working in retrofit, heat pump deployment, or low-carbon estate transition seeking to develop operational assurance capability.
Sustainability officers, Net Zero leads, and environmental managers responsible for evidencing operational performance and supporting compliance reporting in institutional estates.
Innovation organisations, incubators, accelerators, and climate innovation supporters interested in the TPAE initiative's ecosystem development and long-term trajectory.
